Allure 44

The Marlborough Sounds is one of New Zealand's most spectacular cruising grounds, yet the charter experience there has remained largely unchanged — isolated vessels, independent itineraries, and little reason for guests to connect. The Allure 44 was a concept to change that: a fleet of five luxury charter vessels designed not just to explore the Sounds, but to come together on the water.

Working from a provided 14-metre planing hull, in a team of four, we developed the concept over four months. My role was producing renders and building the 1:15 scale physical model. The central design move was a pair of sliding freeboard doors at the stern, allowing two vessels to open their aft decks and lock together into a single shared outdoor platform via hydraulic duckboards. Seat backs also folding away to make the space better for entertaining. Panoramic glazing and considered interior spatial planning complete the guest experience.

The final design was realised as a full-scale CAD model and a 1:15 scale physical model.
